Technology Advances in Time Management

Since technology is, advancing time management strategies if all ready constructed should be modified accordingly. Technology has come a long way since its early beginning in the 80s. Nearly every business today is upgrading computers, software, and hardware, and so on to keep up with the times. If we have our own business and upgraded, we know that the prices of software, hardware and computers has changed also.

Nowadays we can get computers for less than $500 if we search the market thoroughly for the best prices. time management is essential for business transactions, family, entertainment, goals, and so much more. When we develop a time management scheme that works smoothly to reach our goals, it makes our life much easier. Managing time is not always easy since times change dramatically, and in some instances every day. Most of us are aware that when we purchase a computer it is all ready outdated once it hits our desk.

Therefore, we need to know which computer can benefit our business best, and at the same time get prices that match our budget plan in our time management scheme. Computers should have at least 512 RAM or DDRAM to run smoothly in business transactions. So when you are purchasing a computer for business relations, make sure the RAM is sufficient, as well as the CPU since it plays a role in Speed. The hard drive should be at least 80 GHz to operate the average small business. Hard drives are relatively inexpensive nowadays, so if you find a good price on a computer, you can always upgrade later. Software is also important in business relations and time management. If you buy software that does not coordinate with other programs, you will run into conflicts, which waste time and money.

If your computer is conflicting with other programs, then it often leads to difficult situations. You should also include Virus Scanners, Spyware, and Adware Programs, since nowadays everyone is attacked at some point in a year. Other types of software that could benefit your business are Microsoft Outlook, which has features and tools for storing files, managing files, and storing important information, keeping your files organized.

There are a variety of software’s on the marketplace specifically designed for businesses of all sizes and the prices start low in some instances and go up in other cases. Depends on the size of your business, so be sure to get what you need, and not what you want since budgeting is a part of reaching your goals. Remember in some instances we can’t avoid saving, since generic programs may waste our time when they fail. It might be wise to purchase a program that is a bit more expensive. This may save you time and money in the long run.

You might also want to search for a program that makes backing up large files, or a number of files easier. Backups can take time if you have a hard drive full of files. Storage mediums are available in case you want to back your files up to disc or tape and store them in a safe area. Some business owners include in their time management scheme a well-developed plan for backups. Some businesses store files on a central computer stored outside of their office. This not only provides a securer source for saving your data, it also provides a solution if disaster hits your building.

Software programs that cut cost and spares time are the best programs to purchase. Be sure to clean you computer regularly, since space is essential in time management. If you store files on your computer and rarely clean it, it will backup your hard drive and your computer may crash. In addition, you can purchase affordable software that can help keep your computer clean and running smoothly. Programs such as Window Washer makes it easy to clean files that are no longer used, as well as rummaging and cleaning files that are fragmented. Any program that works to manage your time and save you money is worth the cost. Be sure you keep up with technology advancements, since some software programs when outdated have no technical support available.

Techniques in Time Management

There are a number of techniques in managing times, but for the most part time management has basic rules. Communication, social skills, empathy, open minded, thoughts, feedback, and other elements key in to time management schemes. In order to reach a level of communication that produces results we must listen to what is said to us, hear what the person is saying, and come to a degree of understanding. Often when people communicate, the messages they are sending are off balance, since communication is distorted in many cases.

When you are hearing what the person is telling you and listening for the hidden messages, this is when you will find the solution. Effectual communication does not mean to listen and hear what others are saying however, it also means you must listen to your self, hear what you are saying to find the hidden messages in communication. This puts understanding communication in order. If you are communicating business, it is important that you get the message across accurately. Most communication is based on assumptions, opinions, ideas, theories, guesses and so on.

Rarely does anyone communicate the knowledge and experience since most people are confused by constant changes in theories, guesses and so on. This means that communication is flawed often, so the trick is role playing, researching, and finding your own answers, as well as listening to others. Understanding is grasping the meaning of what is said to you, or what you are saying. Therefore, if we do not understand our communication is also affected.

When we learn proper communication skills and have the ability to understand we constitute social skills that will show to others. This is the process of putting time management into play, since if we are filled with doubts, lack the ability to communicate, or lack social skills, our time management schemes are affected. Communication also includes keeping an open mind.

Shallow minded or stereotypical often cause more trouble for them selves in the long run than they do others around them. Keeping an open mind means, you are willing to listen and hear what others have to say, and you are searching for the hidden messages in their communication. Our thoughts are what contribute to wasted time. When we are investing our time promoting thoughts that are not constructive, then we are wasting valuable time that could lead us to our goals sooner.

Our thoughts are what determine how our life will turn out. If we are thinking positive, we often receive positive results and when we are talking people are more willing to listen. Feedback is also a part of time management techniques. Feedback goes hand in hand with effectual communication. Moreover, whether we realize it or not, both positive and negative feedback can bring forth results.

Positive and Negative Feedback

Positive feedback is an incomplete reversion of the affects of a process in action linking to its source or to a previous phase. Feedback works in many ways to help us all find a solution that works toward a targeted goal. Negative feedback tends to stabilize our process of time management. Negative feedback is not always good, but sometimes it brings out points that are missed in positive feedback.

This contributes to communication, since communication comes in many forms, and often information is missed due to the person (s) negligence in understanding effectual communication. After carefully consider communication, feedback, thoughts, open minds, we now must find out how empathy plays an essential role in managing time and effectual communication.

Empathy

Since empathy understands peoples’ feelings, thoughts, experiences, it is a form of communication. When we take the time to understand what other people are saying to us, most people will respond positively. This is also an important element for social skills. Many people misconstrue empathy for sympathy, which is a simply the ability to think or share feelings alike. We do not always agree on everything, so we need to learn how to empathize with others so that our time management schemes works. As you can see, our techniques in time management include cultivating a winning personality that includes effectual communication, understanding, ability to listen, and having empathy for others.

Successful Time Management

In order for time management to be successful, you have to abide by certain rules. Although all of us are different in our own ways, there are key rules that apply to us all. Planning is one of those key rules that apply to us all in time management. When we are strategically working to stay organized, it tells where our life is headed. When we divert a plan, we need to focus on everything that pertains to our lives, including business, family, self, entertainment, meals, and so on.

If you were planning to manage time in business, then you would focus on the specific requirements that involve you and your expertise. You will also need to include your team, if this is true of you. Teams that work together often stay together and become successful. However, the specific target is what you are to do to make your business run smoothly.

To be successful in time management you must evaluate many viewpoints, line of attack, and replicas that are involved in premeditated plans. If you are working in an organization, you must plan accordingly to the atmosphere and people in the company. For example, businesses are often complex in their own way, and sometimes it is a direct result of dialect and miscommunication. Therefore, if you are experiencing problems within your organization you might want to find a resolve in the chain of communication, by laying out a plan that works for everyone.

time management falls into place when the organization is running smoothly. Each year most companies get together to lay out a business plan, or else to re-evaluate the business plan in question. If you have excess to this business plan you might want to ask your boss or if you are the boss to go over the plan. Business plans are great for helping businesses find a solution to problems. Often the problem is hidden in the fine lines of the business plan. Analyzing business plans is part of the strategy that heads in the direction of successful time management scheme.

Staying organized is also important. If you have a plan and find problems with managing your time, it might be because your organizing specifics are flawed. Staying organized also takes skills and knowledge. If you do not know where to start with organizing you might want to look at your desk, and if you see that it is trashed, you know your organizing skills are flawed.

Skills come in when you take action to clean up your desk and organize your papers. If you are aware of the records in most office, you know for the most part they are categorized in alphabetic order. Lawyers often file their documents in filing cabinets labeling them by name. There are many ways to plan and organize to achieve a successful time management scheme, but for the most part, it starts by evaluating what our needs are and what we are expected to achieve. If you have a family you and work long hours, you might want to workout a time management plan that works to keep your family happy.

Strengthen Skills in Time Management

We want to strengthen our skills in time management, since it is essential for a successful life. College students are very aware of time management, yet many of the students struggle to maintain a productive level of time. Since, most students attend classes, work a job, search for time with families and friends, and strive to find time for their own needs, time management is an ongoing effort. If most of these students went to class with a positive attitude half of their time would be spent wisely.

If you have very little experience with managing your time, it might be wise to do a little research, or else talk with a professional that is experienced with time management. If you are employed, you might want to find someone outside of your business that can support you and help you learn time management skills. The reason you would go outside the business is that studies have shown that many businesses both small and large often struggle with time management.

Plans are the steps to setting up a time management scheme, but we must realize that plans can, will, and has failed. Regardless, who is putting a plan in action there are always changes. Someone outside of your business can be more open-minded, looking at the problem objectively and help you to get on track again. If you are planning in your business, this is positive; however, you must realize that disasters are a reality. Setting your priorities straight is also important to a leading time management scheme. When you set priorities and work hard to achieve your goals, you are then strengthening your skills.

College students are often struggling, simply because many of them procrastinate, or have difficulties in a course and refuse to ask for help. Alternatively, they are too busy worrying about other things outside of college, including entertainment, which distracts the mind. Therefore, we can strengthen our skills by looking at the situation and realizing that distractions are a mishap waiting to happen, and refusal to ask for help, is a road to disaster.

Procrastination is not an option if you are striving for success. Procrastination waste time and energy, and only adds up the tasks you already had on your plate. If you are planning a date, don’t sit at your desk worrying about what you are going to wear, rather get on your feet and get your work done first. When you go on that date you will find yourself more relaxed and your date will thank you since they probably worried all day what they were going to wear. We all have shortcomings that prevent us from achieving our goals. The key to strengthen your time management skills is to move those obstacles within out of your way, so you can run over the obstacles outward head on without complications. Do not procrastinate, do not worry, do not avoid your responsibilities and you strength and success will enhance tremendously.

Strategies to Time Management

Strategy is a planning ahead to achieve a specific goal. Some of us plan a time management scheme for one or two years, while others plan five or ten years. In college, we were taught to manage our time according to long-term and short-term goals. The short-term goals are five years, so in this article we are going with the college teachings that were provided to me.

I personally do not believe that anyone has the authority to plan, since tomorrow has no guarantees, but stepping aside from my beliefs, I noticed that when I do plan, organize and strive to manage my time, I find life is easier. At the same time, I watched as my plans fell apart at the seams, so today we are going to plan a strategy and add a backup plan.

Backup time management Plan

Ok, we have the plan laid out, and we do not see any future complications. We show up at work as usually and follow our list we have written to instruct us which task is most important to achieve first to reach our goals. Things are running smoothly! In the next half hour, the boss runs up and tells everyone go home, there is a horrible storm about the hit. The next day you come to work and find the company in chaos. What are you going to do? Do you have a backup plan?

After you lay out your plans to manage your time, your next step is to layout a backup plan that supports your original strategic planning. Today many companies store their important documents on computers. This is fine as long as you have the files labeled accordingly. Some companies even back up their files to a storage medium, either in another computer on site, or else on discs or tapes. The tapes sometimes are stored in an off room on the premises. Bad deal! When that building is hit by a fatal storm, causing disaster what are the chances of those vital files surviving.

The key then to strategizing to manage time is to send those documents to a storage medium off the premises and at least 50 to 100 miles away from the area. I studied backup, I do backup, and I backup, and know that the importance of backup data is VITAL to managing time. If you have a smaller company there are disaster backup plans that can meet your needs, but be alert that some of these disaster backup plans are ‘low end’ plans. The programs are for those of us with a single or a couple of computers, rather those large companies that often have a mainframe computer as the central communicator.

The source provides a minimal source for storing checklists as well as storing company information. But again, if you do not have your data stored off the premises your backup time management plan is in trouble. While there are many solutions or methods for strategizing a time management scheme, no scheme is bullet proof unless your plans are backed up!

Positions in Time Management

What are our positions in time management? time management is the process of planning to reach a goal, and finding a solution that helps us to reach that goal. This article should be relatively short, since the words above should be more than obvious. YOU are the main position in time management. However, we must consider all positions in time management to construct a plan that works best for you. Every one of us has a deadline to meet a specific task (s).

Your position then is to get those tasks finished, bring in you one-step closer to your goal. If you are wasting time sifting through papers, or daydreaming, you are wasting energy, money and time that could be spent in your time management plan to achieve your goal. After carefully study clutter, I estimated it takes around 10-15 minutes to clean up the desk, while it takes about 30 minutes to find papers that are important to achieving goals.

Sloppiness is a sign of irresponsibility, and it only wastes time, promotes negative thinking, and costs money. If you work at a desk, and most of your tasks are handled on a computer, then it takes a few minutes to backup your data and store it in a safe place. It takes years to recover what you have not backed up. In addition, if you are labeling your files accurately it takes less time to find a file in demand, and takes longer to find the file that was incorrectly labeled.

Are you spending quality time with your family, or is your time idling? One hour of your time each day can save you money and time. If you are not spending quality time with your family, factor in the expense of divorce, heartaches, time, and other elements when those days comes and deduct the loss in your time management scheme. In some cases, you can calculate the expenses of court costs when your children decide dad or mom is not enough, and they need attention lacking so they get major attention after committing a crime. Let reality sink in when you are diverting a plan to manage your time, reaching your goal. There are many positions in managing time, but for the most part your effort is the position that requires consistency.

School is important and a vital requirement to managing time, since it is a resource to reaching goals. When you are at school your position in this time management scheme is to DO your homework on time and study accordingly. If you are daydreaming in class, remember it is a dream toward a past that was never achieved to reach the dream. If you are procrastinating, your position is lost. Procrastination is the process of intentionally and habitually putting off responsibilities, and when we put off responsibilities our position in achieving those goals is sitting in a seat in someone else’s pocket. In addition if you are not studying to meet grades that are required in achievement, then you are saying to yourself and everyone around you that, “My position in life is to do what I can, and ignore what I want to do.”

The positions in planning to achieve a goal are requiring that you act out your plans putting strong emphasis on laboring to reach your goal. It requires the ability to manage your time while staying organized. If you are waiting for your goals to fall in your lap, remember your ship rolled in when you was out in the middle of the ocean. It takes work, effort, responsibility, motivation, and careful planning to save time and make money to reach a goal. If you do not have all these qualities then your position in life are to wait for someone else to reach your goal while you sit back wondering what happened. Your position if well thought out in your time management scheme can bring forth short-term rewards, such as motivation to achieve, great self-esteem, self-confidence, and so on. Holding your position in your time management scheme may even bring your goal closer than expected if you apply the actions that are needed in managing time.

Personalities and Time Management

The marketplace is swarming with topics on time management and few include personality types, which amazes me, since our personalities play a large role in time management. For example, we have disabilities, spontaneous, and so-called normal individuals, so how can one article tell us how to manage our time? Extensively I studied human behaviors and learned that all of us are different in more ways than science or researchers can explain.

None of us has all the answers, but some of us can lead you on a path to time management if the right words fall into place. In addition, if we have an idea of what type of person we are, then we are well on our way to finding the solution for managing time. Time is complicated, since the bible shows us that one day to God is a thousand years. Moreover, man has his own ideas of time. So therefore, when time is used, we must ask ourselves, “Is it used wisely.” We can start by looking at our personality to determine which plan works better for us in managing time.

Personalities:

From beginning of time we all were created with our own personality type, and some of us went astray with the misguidance of researchers, experts, and so on. The basic rules were laid out however, when experts, philosophers and researchers set out to determine what types of persons make up the world. Taking for example the spontaneous personality type, we can see it differs from the neatly type.

The spontaneous types often are unorganized, and fail to plan. Spontaneous individuals have an advantage since the focus on one day at a time vs. living each day on a schedule. The disadvantage is that the spontaneous individuals suffer throughout their life, since a time management plan is not in view. In order to cultivate a neatly individual, you would need to work with the personality type, by allowing them to act as themselves, but manipulating a neatly view in the plan. Spontaneous individuals require the need to be free and loose. So therefore there desks are most likely going to be free and loose: papers flying everywhere.

To put a spontaneous individual in order, is allowing the person to work multi-tasking projects, which often benefit these types the best. If the person is multi-tasking, he or she is putting time management in focus. Still, the focus is there, but the plans are not in action, so therefore it pays to stay focus of your own individuality to find out what works best for your personality type. There is no single plan for these types of individuals that work the best. The neatly types have very little problem in time management, yet they have problems in other areas. Some of us may see them as perfectionist, but in fact, the neatly types are compensating. Regardless each personality type has its own individuality and learning your personality is the open door to a successful time management plan.

Learning Time Management

“A wise man will learn everything and a stupid man will learn nothing.”

Learning time management is not as difficult as many believe. In fact, when we first start school we are in the process of learning new strategies that help us obtain goals. When our parents teach us we are, also learning skills needed in time management. The advantage of learning requires the proper training, and since our world constitutes a variety of teachings; this is where time management becomes difficult. The best part reward from learning is learning who we are.

We have our parents, schools, peers, political leaders, newspaper, and many other resources that tell us to do this for best results or do that for best results and all of them differ. Our parents are some of the best teachers in life since most parents care for their children and will help them to see their mistake clearly. Teachers are great also, but everyone was raised differently, which is another subject, for the most part, it does affect how we think and behave. The correct form of managing time is to understand your individuality and what you can handle. If you are struggling, you might be working at a job that over succeeds your ability to function as a person. You might want to find a job that matches your abilities and skills.

Biting off more than you can chew is one of the first steps to the road of failure. If this is true then your time management is out of order. It might be that you are not meeting the demands that are placed on you, but have the ability to accomplish the responsibilities. Regardless, the time management scheme is out of order. We can break time management down according to individualities, but for the most part managing time is the process of handling tasks placed upon us without decreasing our flow of work or succeeding our ability to handle the tasks. We need the ability to alter our plans, since people, places, things, and businesses change.

We need a direct order of skills to make a plan work and need the ability to comply with those plans. We need to learn to accept changes as they come and learn social skills and conditioning in order to manage our time. Changes are accepted through proper punishment and rewards. If we fail to accept a change in life, it might be because rewards or punishment is not in action. When you find your self in a difficult spot and handle it accordingly, a reward is in demand, but if you hit a difficult spot and you fail, punishment is in demand.

Punishment is not harsh; rather it is a form of correcting an action or decision made. This gives us balance if we are correcting our selves when we make bad decisions and rewarding our selves when we make good decisions. It is important that rewards and punishment are positive, since balance is essential in managing time.

Positive Skills

Positive skills lead us to a positive light. When we are balanced and learning our time is spent wisely, which contributes to time management. Another great tool to have in the road to success is motivation. Motivation is achieved in many ways, and some things in life can affect how we feel or think. Some of the things that affect our motivation levels are smoking, caffeine, lack of exercise, overeating, lack of dieting, and having the ability to cope with changes.

To cultivate motivation then we need to treat our minds and body good, and plan to reach our purpose in life. Learning time management is essential for all the things we do in life. From the first day, you came into the world up until the time you went to school you began learning time managing skills in all directions, and mostly you were on the road to learning yourself, which is a priority if you want to set goals for your future. If we do not understand who we are as an individual, we are not learning what it takes to managing our time wisely. Do not waste time get on the learning boat!

Intentional Time Management Solution

To be successful in life we must have an intentional time management solution. Intentional is an active force in motion created from premeditation. This means we must practice helpful behaviors, actions, thinking and habits to make our time valuable. Life is filled with vicissitudes and if you do not have time management in order you are sure to go down. We can’t change the things that we hear on the news in one day, but we can make changes to the news in our future.

One of the best solutions for learning intentional time management solutions is taking time out for pleasurable pursuits. If we take time out for our selves, it gives a source of relief and brings us to a productive moment when we are at work. If you are pessimistic, you might want to change your views by practicing rational-emotive imagery, which promotes rational thinking capabilities leading to success. The process includes imagining colorfully depictions of intricate events and following up by thinking lucid thoughts in relation to the difficulties, you are facing.

If you are a positive thinker, it never hurts to practice this technique also, since life can bring us down at any moment. If you are afraid of challenges then you might want to practice Behavioral rehearsals, which is the process of practicing things that make you afraid due to lack of skills or education. If you are at work try something new in your job place that sets a challenge for you and work hard to achieve the task. This will help you to overcome obstacles and when your time management scheme fails, you will be ready to deal with it positively. Resistance is one of the leading stumps in many people’s life that contributes to failure in success. If you have a fear ingrained in your mind, it is likely to reveal itself later in your life. Fear is the roots of failure in the sense many of us do not take the time to find out which fears are healthy and which are not healthy.

If we are afraid to take chances in life, it is often because we are afraid of change. Change is good. Change shows us that success is in motion. Some changes are bad, but for the most part, we can’t avoid change. As professional business people, we often have a great reasonability and are often confronted with a variety of demands. We are often required to analyze, evaluate, and think critically to put a plan in motion. Often we work with other people, which mean changes are going to happen. Staying focused can help us to increase the business profits as well as help us to achieve our goal and maintain a sturdy time management scheme. Our skills require us to commit to hard work. time management is a critical part of everyday life, and wasting time on negative thinking is not a solution for intentional time management.

In most cases, people base their ideas and thoughts on assumption, believing that something is going to happen and in most cases, it never does. The first thing I do when times are rough is wake up in the morning repeating to myself that today is going to positive. I practice this way of thinking as much as possible and in most cases when I say this to myself, something good comes my way. I know that my positive words and thinking did not bring forth these results; rather it was the efforts and motivation that brought good in to my life. I took a step somewhere in this equation to get the results that were brought to me.

Therefore, if you want to lay out an intentional time management plan you need to put the ball in motion by acting on your plans. You must also learn a positive way of handling your daily tasks. Do not think of work as a “thing to do” rather think of work as one-step closer to you goal. If you do not like you job, find a solution. Either you live with it, or you find something better. There is always a solution to any problem.

Goals Require Work and Time Management

Any single goal requires hard work and properly constructed time management schemes to work in harmony in an effort to achieve our dreams. When you are diverting a plan to meet your goal then you need to work a time management solution that runs smoothly and consistently. I am going to include an example of a faulty time management scheme and an over-your-head goal agreement:

According to Business Week Online, filing bankruptcy is going to be harder than ever. Lawyers say that getting your bankruptcies out of the way now can save you headaches later. Statistics show that many people are filing bankruptcy and rushing to the court doors are many more business owners and others. If you this is not your goal, don’t worry, but if you don’t have a time management scheme well-thought out, you might be one of the individuals that was listed in Business Week Online, struggling later to get a bankruptcy in action.

Is this your goal in the next ten years? If not then you had better get to work committing yourself to the requirements (which include hard work and effort on your part) in order to achieve your goals. Time slips from our hands, and if we are not monitoring our time carefully, then time and money is lost forever and there is no turning back. Today, it takes two people to meet a single goal. However, if we are single, it is possible to move ahead with less effort than we realize. For example, you can cut back your time by doing your work on time. You can also make a wise decision and get a job that pays you the money that you deserve in sink with your skills. There are many decisions when it comes to managing time, and no decision should be left out. In the course of ten years, anything can happen.

We can lay out a well-constructed plan that seems bullet proof, but suddenly everything changes when we did not calculate all aspects of life into that plan. Now, the percentage of bankruptcies is often a direct result of negligence in time management. Some of these people most likely failed to add and subtract disaster in their time management plan, while others may have took for granted their achievements and went on a spending binge. Whatever the reason, someone did not put work and time management in proper force.

When we plan to achieve goals, we should look at our selves foremost, and then move onto other requirements that support our goals reach. Knowing our selves first can help us to see if we are lacking in one area, and which area of our being is the strongest. time management schemes help us to reach goals, by keeping us motivated. If we are lacking motivation (it takes work to stay motivated during the process of reaching your goal), then we need a solution. Starting with knowing our selves is the first step to setting goals, achieving goals, and setting up a time management scheme that works. Once we come over this obstacle, we next move to planning to reach our goals.

We start with WORK and Critical THINKING! One of the best tools in our lives is education since it directs us in the right path to success. If you are lacking education and skills and your goal is out in left field, you know that you need to improve. Starting a business is never easy. It takes time, effort and money. If you do not have these three ingredients, your goal is cooked. Therefore, you need to set up a budget, savings, and monitor your time carefully to meet your goals expectations. There are many ways to make money and save money. All we need is the knowledge, skills and the willingness to achieve. Now, if you are looking at the picture in this article, in the next ten years if you don’t plan to struggle with the law to file bankruptcy, then you better get the ball rolling now and work hard every single day; while you carefully lay out a plan that helps you reach your goals.
